Welcome to the Brickhill Community Plan website
A Sustainable Community Plan is an opportunity for the whole community to voice their opinion on what action they wish to see taken in their local area in the future.
Brickhill has been selected as an urban pilot area for the new Sustainable Community Plan approach in Bedford Borough. The pilot scheme trials using the Borough wide Sustainable Community Strategy as a template for producing local level plans in a format that is both useful to the community and which can also easily feed up into Borough wide strategies.
The Plan for our parish will identify local aspirations, problems and opportunities in the context of the wider Sustainable Community Strategy and it’ themes that covers the whole of Bedford Borough. This process will be led by community representatives, supported by BRCC and endorsed by the Parish Council and the Bedford Borough Partnership Board.
The Bedford Borough Partnership Board is made up of key stakeholders for example Bedford Borough Council, Police, NHS Bedfordshire, voluntary sector representatives etc. The process will involve members of the Partnership Board to ensure the actions decided upon are realistic and there is a commitment to support the parish in their delivery.
There have already been two opportunities to have your say on the
future of Brickhill this year:
Tuesday 6th July @ St Marks Church
Community Centre, Calder Rise, MK41 7UY
Monday 12th July @ Anjulita Court
Bramley Way, MK41 7PH (Woodlands Park)
An online survey that closed on 21st September 2010 provided yet another chance to put ideas forward.
